This book (Word Nerd), is a very prime book. I don't like to read, but this book is quite entertaining. .

Ambrose, the twelve year old little boy, is a nerd. He likes to play scrabble, and the closest to a friend he has is three bullies, at school. (that he thinks are his friends.) Ambrose is allergic too Peanuts, his mother and him found out by.. Ambroses mother took him to a nursery when he was four, and the Nanny wasn't keeping up on the medical conditions, and the second day he was there she served peanut butter and jelly sandwhiches, and lucky for him she looked up, from the TV and noticed he was swelling up, so she called 911. << that would suck !
however..
Since then, he has been keeping up with his allergy, and hasn't eaten anything to do with a peanut since!

BUT .. something major happened at school. Remember those three bullies i mentioned? Well, they almost killed him. Knowing that he had a deathly allergy, they slipped a peanut into his sandwich, when he wasn't looking. Ambrose is a philosophical, however his mother, Irene is not. However, Irene decided to home school Ambrose from there on, because she didn't want anything like that to happen to her baby, ever again.

Alone in the evenings, when Irene goes to work Ambrose pesters Cosmo. Cosmo is the 25 year old son of the Greek Landlords that live above them. Cosmo was just released from jail for breaking and entering to support a drug habbit. by accident.. Abrose discovers that they share a love of scrabble forces Cosmo into talking him to the West Side Scrabble Club, where Cosmo falls for Amanda. Amanda is the club director. 'Posing' as Ambrose's Big Brother to impress her, Cosmo is motivated to take Ambrose to the weekly meetings and to give him lessons in self-defence. Cosmo, Amanda, and Ambrose soon form an alliance and for the first time in his life, Ambrose blossoms. the characters at the Scrabble Club come to embrace Ambrose for who he is, and for their shared love of words. there's only one problem...

Ambrose's mother, Irene has no idea what Ambrose is up to.

You must also begin to give examples of the following from your novel; foreshadowing, similies, metaphors, examples of alliteration etc. Provide a page number and the exact sample from your novel with quotes. Be creative and have fun with it!

A:

Protagonist
The protagonist is Ambrose, he has a deathly allergy to peanuts, he gets bullied, and when he's mad he plays scrabble.
Antagonist
For the antagonist, there are two bullies that almost kill him, by slipping a peanut into his sandwich. Ambrose *thinks* they are his friends.
Setting
The story "Word Nerd" takes place in Vancouver, a basement of a apartment, and Ambroses school.
Conflict
When Ambrose wasn't paying attention, just before he took a bite of his jam sandwich, one of the three bullies slipped a peanut in his sandwich. However, that was his *second* near death experience.
Climax
In my opinion, the most interesting part of the book is when Cosmo owes Silvia money. However, when they are at the park across from Ambroses house, a big fight starts, Silvia wants his money.. but he doesn't want to pay him back, Silvia ends up beating him up. Ambrose 'saves the day' kindof. He sprays them with a hose.
Resolution
But, without saving the day.. the neighbours call the cops, when they arrive, they take them to the police station. And, everything gets solved from there! that But, without saving the day.. the neighbours call the cops, when they arrive, they take them to the police station. That part intrigued me in the book, and led me to read more.
